Nutrition Coaching
EAT WELL, LIVE WELL
I believe that by integrating yoga, meditation, and healthy eating into one's daily life, one can not only live well and feel well, but sustainable contentment can be found. I am a strong advocate for the healing powers of a healthy diet and lifestyle. I feel passionate about discovering the underlying causes and triggers of my clients' pain and fatigue so I can assist them in achieving better health and vitality. I strongly believe that the foods that we put into our bodies affect all of our systems: physical, mental and emotional. I can help individuals gain a better understanding about what foods will help them most.

MY APPROACH
When I work with people around health, nutrition and wellness, I understand that it can be an extremely vulnerable issue in your life. It can be incredibly difficult to make lasting changes to your health, food, lifestyle, and habits. Many different emotions are connected to how and what we eat. I will meet you without judgment and help you make sustainable and lasting changes that you can understand and implement for a lifetime.

I have been working with women, men and young folks since 2011 regarding food and all of the ways it manifests in our lives. I've worked with clients struggling with many nutritional issues, including pre-diabetic diagnoses, gestational diabetes, eating disorders, body image, over eating, addiction, gluten intolerance, candida overgrowth, digestive issues, and PCOS to name a few.

WOMEN & MOTHERS
I have also worked with women trying to get pregnant, prenatal women, and postnatal women since 2001. I have a solid understanding of the specific health needs for women during their reproductive years and as new mothers. If you are a woman and in need of diet or lifestyle support, please know that support is available.

The demands of motherhood are myriad and support can come in all ways. I can help support you to feed yourself and your family. I can help deepen you understanding about how your health needs may be changing during these times. I can help you implement sustainable changes to keep up with all the changes that have occurred and are occurring in your life.

As we age, our hormone levels change. This may be causing headaches, insomnia, change in appetite, or weight gain. I can help you develop a plan for nourishing yourself with food that can help minimize the negative effects and balance your hormones.

YOUNG ADULTS
It is one of my biggest joys to work with with young folks as they navigate their own journey of healing. I help young clients ranging in age from 13 - 29 to implement healthy eating, healthy body image, meal prep, gain moderation with substances, develope daily practices to create nourishment, and understand the sources of depletion, stress, and anxiety.

MY CREDENTIALS
I work as a yoga and meditation teacher (E-RYT), a nutritional consultant (NC) and a Wellness guide. I specialize in helping people heal through yoga, somatic sensing, spiritual embodiment and healthy eating.
I received my master's degree in Women's Studies, specializing in Women's Health and Eating Disorders from San Diego State University in 1998. I have been teaching yoga since 1999 and received my certification in Holistic Nutrition from Bauman College in 2012. I have had a meditation and spiritual practice, since 1999, that guides my work with clients. I believe that by integrating yoga, meditation, and healthy eating into one's daily life, one can not only live well and feel well, but sustainable contentment can be found. Since 2002 I have also been the owner and director of the Berkeley Yoga Center.

I have been helping people transform their lives for well over two decades through yoga and meditation. I offer a more complete approach for healing by offering services as a nutrition Consultant.

PART OF MY STORY
My journey toward sustainable contentment demanded I make the connection between mind, body and spirit. I began using food as a way to cope at an early age and not in a healthy way. At the age of 11 I was diagnosed with scoliosis, a significant curvature of the spine (both C and S curve), which caused chronic pain until I found yoga a decade later. Yoga helped to heal my physical pain, as well as connect to my body from the inside, which also helped in healing my relationship to my body and food.
During an Ayurvedic cleanse in 2010, I experienced many beneficial outcomes. Two of which were sleeping through the night and having no abdominal pain after eating. These were experiences that I had grown accustomed to, and dealt with on a daily basis. After the Ayurvedic cleanse when I began to reintroduce foods, I realized that gluten was a major culprit in my digestive and sleep issues. This led me to want to better understand how nutrition and the body worked, so that I could help people not only have the tools of yoga and meditation to heal, but also the information about how to eat for wellness. This journey of connecting with body and spirit eventually led me in 2011 to get my education in holistic nutrition.
As Michael Pollan recommends, "Eat food. Mostly plants. Not too much." If indeed we were able to understand how to implement this very simple recommendation, there would be no need for the services of a Nutrition Consultant. However, life is complicated and because of the food industry that currently exists in this country, food is complicated too.
If you are interested in better understanding how to take care of yourself with food, email me today. If you are experiencing fatigue, stress, weight gain, digestive issues or feeling overwhelmed, I can help start you on a path to heal.
